Our schemes are aimed at increasing the independence and mobility of older people and people with disabilities.

In the Office
With our new Shopmobility Centre we need volunteers for help in the offices so if you have skills or experience in reception, using computers, or enjoy talking to people on the phone or in person please give us a call. We also need help with demonstrating and training our wheelchairs, scooters to shopmobility users and our workshop needs help to check and prepare the vehicles ready for use.

As a Driver in our Volunteer Car Scheme
The scheme is to take people to the doctors, the shops or to meet up with friends. Volunteers drive their own cars and receive expenses of 40p per mile.
As a driver for our Voluntary Accessible Car
Passengers requiring transport in or with their wheelchairs can now use our VAC, a four seater vehicle specially adapted to carry wheelchairs. Training is given on transporting and securing the wheelchairs. To keep fares to a minimum we rely on volunteers to drive the car.

Minibus Driver for Community Group Hire
We hire out our minibuses (15 seaters) to local community groups whose members include wheelchair users, we need volunteers to drive and join in the fun of their outings, often in the evenings and at weekends.
