Voluntary Car Schemes

The Tiverton Voluntary Car Scheme was set up in 1989. They exist to provide lifts in cars for frail elderly people and people with disabilities who find public transport extremely difficult, either because they cannot walk to the bus stop or easily climb on or off the bus.

Transport is provided by volunteers using their own cars. It may not always be possible to arrange a lift as all the drivers are volunteers and cannot be expected to turn out on every occasion, although they will always do their best.
